Bo Stief (b.1946) began accompanying visiting American musicians as early as 1963. The list includes Dollar Brand, Don Cherry, Dexter Gordon, Carla Bley, Ben Webster, Kenny Drew, Miles Davis, Stan Getz, Eddie Harris and many others. He has fronted his own groups, Chasing Dreams, Dream Machine and One Song III. He has performed on an almost endless list of recordings, and when not playing with Ole and Bobo, he is still active on electric and upright bass in many constellations. Ole Kock Hansen (b.1945) freelanced in the 1960’s before joining the Danish Radio Big Band in 1967. He was a member of the big band for several years while also playing with his own trio and as a sideman with numerous Danish groups - often as a regular partner with bassist Niels-Henning Ørsted Pedersen. He has arranged and written many pieces for the Danish Radio Big Band as well as conducting the orchestra. He is an important figure in Danish jazz.
